How to ping to the server pc

Description

à You want to test if the client pc can get to the server pc.

(If this would not work, it means the connection is not possible due to security measures (like FireWall) or due to the machines not being connected)

Solution

Ping to the server pc.

Option 1: Ping to the server pc

  1. Open command (hit the Windows Start button, and type in cmd (+ENTER))

  1. Type in 'Ping' followed by the name of the server

  1. If Sent = Received, then this pc can send and receive information with the other pc.

(if it does not work, the connection is blocked or not possible)
