Minimal mandrel diameter (8.3(2))

The mandrel diameter should not exceed minimal value defined in 8.3(2). Check looks as follows. Calculation of minimal defined mandrel diameter of stirrups:

φ_m=Coeff_ϕm∙φ_s

where

• Coeff_ϕm- value defined in Stirrup layer - Diameter of mandrel

• φ_s- diameter of defined stirrup

Furthermore minimal allowed mandrel diameter of stirrup is determined as follows from table 8.1N

for φ_s≤ 16 mm; φ_m,min=4∙φ_s

for φ_s> 16 mm; φ_m,min=7∙φ_s

Finally unity check is calculated as follows:

UC_8.3(2) = φ_m/φ_m,min
