This article contains the list of properties of "1D member & shear wall design" ACI check based on external ECtools solution. For detailed information see the ECtools documentation.
This check is displayed in the Concrete service if:
Type of selection: Define the selection for the design.
Filter: Define the selection using predefined filters.
Pushover analysis (beta): Run the pushover analysis after the ECtools design.
Include SCIA Engineer combinations: Consider also user combinations defined in "ECtools_seismic" and "ECtools_non-seismic" result classes.
Show 'Edit data' dialogue: Show the dialogue for the data edit dialogue before the ECtools design calculation in "interaction mode".
Ignore beam axial forces: Ignore normal forces in beams during the ECtools design.
Asmin beam (4/3 Acal): Use the rule for minimal designed reinforcement area value A_s,min = 4/3 A_cal.
User-defined value of max fyt: User-defined value for maximum allowed yield strength of shear reinforcement.
Concrete cover: Global value of reinforcement cover. Local value can be set in 'Edit data' dialogue.
Steel default strength: Global reinforcement steel material.
Units of output: Defines whether output will be in S.I. or imperial units.
Seismic design: Consider seismicity during the ECtools design.
Seismic loads from spectral analysis: This option informs ECtools that the analysis forces for seismic combinations are resulting from spectral analysis, therefore they are considered as absolute values and all the statistically significant combinations are automatically created.
Include eccentricities: Consider eccentricity load cases in ECtools code combinations generation.
Design spectra response acceleration (S_ds): The design spectral response acceleration parameter at short periods (in g). (ASCE/SEI 7-10 Table 11.6-1)
Risk category: The user must select the Risk Category (I, II, III or IV). (ASCE/SEI 7-10 §1.5, Table 1.5-1)
Importance factor (I_c): The user must select the seismic importance factor Ic. (ASCE/SEI 7-10 §1.5, Table 1.5.2)
Seismic design category (S_dc): The user must select the seismic design category SDC, with values ranging from A to F. This is used later in the design. (ACI318M-11 §21.1.1.3)
Structural system type: The user must select the structural system type. (ASCE/SEI 7-10 §12.2)
Ductility class: For seismic design option, the desired ductility class of the building should be selected, either Ductility ordinary, intermediate or special.
Override redundancy factor: Automatically calculated factor is overridden by the user-defined value.
Redundancy factor value: This value will be considered in case the user choose to override redundancy factor.
Overstrength factor: Value of over-strength factor. (ASCE/SEI 7-10 §12.2)
Override horizontal structural irregularity: Automatically calculated factor is overridden by the user-defined value.
Horizontal structural irregularity value (2-5): This value will be considered in case the user choose to override the horizontal structural irregularity.
Override vertical structural irregularity: Automatically calculated factor is overridden by the user-defined value.
Vertical structural irregularity (3-5): This value will be considered in case the user choose to override the vertical structural irregularity.
Weak story elevation for 5a/5b vert. irregularity: Weak story elevation value considered in case the 5a or 5b vertical irregularity is selected.
Response modification coefficient: Input the value of coefficient. (ASCE/SEI 7-10 §12.2)
Deflection amplification factor: Input the value of factor. (ASCE/SEI 7-10 §12.2)
Foundation level: Common founding level for all the RC wall elements in the model.
Beams from: Minimal rebar diameter for beams reinforcement design.
Beams to: Maximal rebar diameter for beams reinforcement design.
Columns from: Minimal rebar diameter for columns reinforcement design.
Columns to: Maximal rebar diameter for columns reinforcement design.
Walls from: Minimal rebar diameter for walls reinforcement design.
