SCIA Engineer Steel Connection module supports a limited number of cross-section types that may appear on connected beams. SCIA Engineer can deal with the following cross-section types:
The possible combinations of supported cross-sections with relevance to a geometric connection type is indicated in the tables below. Column base connections support all cross-sections.
It is important to mention that in this context, beam is the entity connected to a column. It is perfectly possible that column may be horizontal and beam vertical.
