The torsional resistance of sections is calculated on the basis of a thin-walled closed section, even if the section is actually solid. For solid members, the section is idealized as a thin-walled section. There are several options for generation of thin -walled cross-section in SCIA Engineer, see "Equivalent thin-walled closed cross-section"
The effective wall thickness is calculated according to clause 6.3.2(1) in EN 1992-1-1
