Transverse Shear
The design of composite columns and composite compression members with concrete encased sections, partially encased sections and concrete filled rectangular and circular tubes, applies for cross-sections defined in Figure 6.17 of the code.
The Transverse Shear check is executed according to EN 1994-1-1, 6.2.2.2(1-2), while only the resistance of the structural steel is considered. A contribution from the reinforced concrete part of the beam is not assumed to be established.

The plastic shear resistance is determined using shear area Av for the supported cross-sections.
