FRILO Foundation FD+

The link between SCIA Engineer and FRILO Foundation FD+ allows a user to export a Pad Foundation from the 3D Model into FD+ to further design the foundation and the reinforcement. This link works in one direction: data is exported from SCIA Engineer to FD+.

The export to FRILO Foundation FD+ is only visible in case FD+ is installed.

This export is supported from FRILO FD+ version 02/2018

The following steps describe the procedure to export a Pad Foundation, including Internal Forces, into FD+.

Step 1: Model and Analysis

Make sure a Pad Foundation is defined within the SCIA Engineer project and that an analysis (linear or non-linear) has been executed.

 

Step 2: Foundation Input

Within the Geotechnics Service, use the Foundation input to define nodal data on the foundation nodes:

This nodal data needs to be inputted on the node(s) of the Pad Foundation(s):

 

Step 3: Define the Result Case

Within the Geotechnics Service, use the Check to access the properties for export:

Within the Property Window the desired Result Case (load case, combination, ...) can be set:

 

Step 4: Export to FD+

Use the Action button Export to FRILO Foundation FD+ and select the nodal data defined in Step 2.

The geometry and loading of the Pad Foundation will be exported and the FD+ program will open.

The foundation and reinforcementcan now be further designed in FD+.
