Cloud protection
As from SCIA Engineer 21.1 patch 5 on, we switched our cloud protection provider (from Flexera to 10Duke). From this version on only the new cloud protection (10Duke) can be used and will be supported.
All licenses are transferred automatically. There is no difference in the content of your license/modules between the two systems (we are using the same sen-modules).
What to do?
What do you need to do as a customer now:
- Activate your new account
- Install the latest patch of SCIA Engineer and log in with your new credentials defined in the previous step (use Patch 2 or newer for v21.1, or the newly created Patch 5 for v21.0, v20.0 and v19.1. You can recognize Patch 5 by “5XXX” number at the end, e.g., SCIA Engineer 20.0.5000).
If you do already have a license for SCIA Engineer, you should receive an email from [email protected] to invite you to our new system and you are prompt in that email to set a new password. If not: please contact the administrator of your organization or contact our support department ([email protected]).
Note that your old cloud protection credentials will not work for the new license system!
All patches can be downloaded here: https://www.scia.net/en/support/downloads.
Note that for v21.1 patch 2, patch 3 and patch 4 (21.1.4019) you need to execute DukeLogin.exe (in the Program Files or Program Files (x86) folder) the first time that you want to start SCIA Engineer with the new license system!
If you have further questions, please have a look at this step-by-step manual (see below) or contact your local customer support team ([email protected]).
Why?
Innovation is in our DNA, and that’s why we are constantly looking for ways to improve our product offering and services.
As such, we are updating the license management of SCIA Engineer. After careful consideration, we chose for flexibility and reliability.
The new license management solution allows admins to assign, block and reserve license seats.
And if there is a server outage, there is a seamless grace period, which allows you to work in offline mode so you can continue working with our program.
