Table of contents

Table of contents is a report item which produces the table of contents of the report.It is displayed immediately after inserting into report without necessity to regenerate this report item. There can be more Table of contents in one report if the user needs it.

There are displayed all report items in the Table of contents except some Special items (Page break, Page format, Header / footer, Watermark, Style). There are also displayed chapters generated automatically by the Chaptermaker function. The hierarchy of chapters is respected in the Table of contents.

User can specify following options in the properties of item Table of contents:

Name

Property name is common for all report items and is intended for users orientation. The name identifies the report item in the navigator panel.

Caption

Property caption is common for all report items and defines the name of the caption of the report item in the report. It is not displayed in the report in case of Content.

Caption visible

This property indicates whether the Table of contents is considered as separate chapter.

 

All levels of chapter, Number of displayed chapters

Those properties enable to specify how many levels of chapters will be displayed in the table of content.

 

Scrolling to specific report item using the Table of contents

Since version 14.1 it is possible to scroll to some specific report item by pressing Ctrl+ clicking on some line in the table of contents. The report preview will scroll to the position of the chapter.

This way it is possible to scroll to any item in the report which has its caption displayed. Also to automatically generated sub-chapters .
