Result of phased cross-section
As has been mentioned here, SCIA Engineer supports phased cross-section. It possible to Add, Remove and Re-Add phases of cross-section based on the building in the construction process. All the results option correctly works with phased cross--section (including 3D deformations and 3D stresses) and respecting active parts of cross-section.
See the following simple example of four rectangular phases. The increments of load for each phase adding is always linear distribution of the normal stress.
But total values are not linear along the existing cross-section due to initial stress in the already existed parts from the previous stage. These stresses are simply summed up in the corresponding fibres in each construction stage.
The same principle is applied for all other stresses (shear stress, vertical stresses , tangential stresses...).
The internal forces of phased cross-section are related to centre of gravity of all active cross-section parts. It means when new part active then the initial forces are recalculated to new centre of gravity.
