Introduction

Check of Interaction shear and torsion consists of three checks:

• check of shear, "Shear check"
• check of torsion, "Torsion check"
• check of interaction of shear and torsion

 

All checks mentioned above are calculated according to clause 6.1 - 6.3 in EN 1992-1-1. The following preconditions are used for calculation :

• The checks are calculated for beams and columns and for general load (N+M_y+M_z)
• Cross-section with one polygon and one material is taken into account in version SCIA Engineer 15.
• The material of all reinforcement bars and stirrups have to be same in SCIA Engineer 15.
• The checks should be used only in case, that the angle between gradient of the strain plane and the resultant of shear forces is not greater than 15 °.
