Brief introduction to prestressing

The module Prestressing allows for the analysis of pre-tensioned 1D members. Furthermore, it is possible to calculate and show the short-term losses.

The data defining the location and shape of strands or wires are then used during the structural analysis for the automatic generation of the finite elements of the structural model and the calculation of its equivalent load including the short-term losses.

To sum up, the module Prestressing enables you to analyse the effects of prestressing for 2D. It can be used for the linear analysis of the final stage of the structure. When combined with the module Construction stages it is also possible to model the stepwise prestressing during the assembly of the structure. When also combined with the module TDA one can respect the impact of the rheology of concrete.

However, the module TDA can solve 2D frame structures (project type Frame XZ) only.
