Older SCIA Engineer version

From version 22.0 of SCIA Engineer it is possible to use command "32-bit version (XML)". This functionality enables relatively simple conversion of the model in SciaEngineer from 64bits to older version of SCIA Engineer (including 32bits versions) based on export and import of the project to XML format.

Description / Background

When the command is executed, the user is asked only to enter the path and name of the exported XML file. After that in 32bits version of SCIA Engineer user can use command "Open from XML file" and import project to 32 bit version. Data which were not exported must be added and set again.

Limitations

This feature is mainly for transferring geometry of the structure and it's loading. During export these part of models and other entities are not transferred :

- Results

- Engineering reports

- Picture gallery, Paperspace gallery

- General cross-sections (specifically the shape definition of the cross-section)

- Steel settings and steel member data (stiffeners, LTB restraints...)

- Steel connections

- Concrete settings, concrete member data

- Certain libraries (bolts, sheetings...)

- Buckling supports settings in the system lengths and buckling settings...
