Seismic combinations

Description

Automatic seismic combinations are available in projects calculated according to the EN and EN 2nd. Gen codes. To work properly, it is necessary to have several seismic load cases in the project in a load group with relation set to together.

Procedure to input seismic combination in project

1. There is a need to have several seismic Load cases in the project. (type - variable and specification - Seismicity)
2. These seismic Load cases must be in the same Load Group with relation - together.
3. And there must be the EN code set in the project.
4. Then the new type of combination appears - EN-Seismic.

Background

After adding all Load cases to this combination, SCIA Engineer automatically generates 24 Newmark combinations using this scheme.

It means, every direction of the seismic load is combined with 30% of other directions and these combinations are combined with other permanent and variable load cases. The value of the coefficient can be modified in the Project data dialog by modifying the marked value.
