Ultimate Limit State Check

 

The following ULS checks are available for 1D members:

unity check

The unity check is the maximum of the section and stability check.

section check

The section is checks only depends on the section (tension, compression, bending, shear, ...).

stability check

The stability check depends not only on the section but on the whole beam behaviour: buckling and lateral-torsional buckling.

 

The following ULS checks are available for 2D members:

UC_Overall

The overall unity check is the maximum of all the individual unity checks.

UC_Single

The maximum unity check across all applied single checks.

UC_Combined

The maximum unity check across all applied combined checks.

UC_Stability

The maximum unity check across all applied stability checks.

 

In case of the CLT-check when the output is set to detailed --> pictures of the stresses can be displayed in the output. This can be enabled via the property 'print pictures'.

  1. Open service Timber in the Process Toolbar
  2. Select function Timber ULS Checkor Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) ULS Check.
  3. Select the required values and options.
  4. Select the member(s) where the data are to be displayed.
  5. Click the Refresh action button to display the diagrams.
  6. Repeat while necessary.
  7. When you have finished, end the function.
