1D internal forces

The 1D internal forces command serves for displaying internal forces on selected 1D members. (not only on Beams, but also on Ribs, Tendons and Integration strips/members)

Usage

  1. Calculate a FEM analysis of the model
  2. Go to Tree > Results > Beams > 1D internal forces
  3. Set properties of the command to specify mainly:
    • selection of 1D members where the results are evaluated
    • load type from which the results are derived
    • specific result value from the available list to be visualized
  4. Click on [Refresh] action button to display the results

Note: To get general overview about how to work with Result service and its commands, see Results/Basics.

Selections

Type of selection

All / Current / Advanced / Named Selection

Specifies on what members the results are displayed

See "Type of selection"

Filter

No / Cross-section / Material / WildCard / Layer / Type of beam

Specifies the filter of members on what the results are displayed

See "Filter"
Results in selection

All / Selected

Defines for which sections the results are displayed.

Selected is defined by :

Ends / Close to middle / Inputted

Result case Type of load

Load case / Combinations / Classes / Nonlinear Combinations/ / Mass combinations

Defines for what load the results are displayed.

See"Result case"

Rib

On / Off

Activates possibility to display 1D internal forces not only on Beams, but also on " Rib in the slab"
Tendon

On / Off

Activates possibility to display 1D internal forces not only on Beams, but also on " Parameters of the post-tensioned internal tendon"

Integration strip / member

On / Off

Activate possibility to display 1D internal forces not only on Beams, but also on "Integration strips" / "Integration member"

Prestressing Type of forces

Primary forces / Secondary forces / Total resultants

For "Result case" selected on " Defining the load case parameters" with type prestress it defines for which forces the results are displayed.

"Primary / Secondary forces"

Extreme 1D Extreme 1D

Section / local / Cross-section / Design group / Member / Global

Defines the position where extremes of result value are evaluated.

normal force

1) As default, the internal forces refer to the local axes of the individual 1D member

2) The local axes can be displayed by selecting the corresponding option in the View parameters settings.
