Harmonic method - full harmonic
For this method of harmonic analysis, only the Rayleigh damping is available to be used.
In case of full harmonic analysis, it might be also possible to consider the additional dampers (finite elements).
Results
In contrast to Modal Superposition method, the results of the analysis are absolute values of the response amplitude. This means that only positive values of the results are available.
Negative values of the structural response can be introduced into the model by combinations. If the harmonic load case or the harmonic range load case is in a combination of the envelope type (see types of load case combinations), both positive and negative values of the response are automatically generated by applying the combination rules.
Created envelope (see figure above) describes the response of the structure to an external force with both positive and negative amplitude.
